1978 550k needle height question.
« on: July 24, 2006, 12:35:04 AM »

When setting the slide needle height, which clip is the stock setting?
I think it is measured in clips.

Thanks.

Pretty sure it is like the 77 Cb550 K3;  2nd groove from the non-pointy end.
It's in the Carb FAQ

I rebuilt the carbs on my 550K3 which had been sitting for 14 years so they were all gummed up. The bike ran really flat after and just felt too weak. I raised the needles up 1 notch and now it flies. I think I raised them to the middle notch but can't be 100% sure..... should be in the manual.
