Dug up some charging parts.
Figured I would swap on in and "band-aid" the system for the rest of the season.

Over the winter ill build a proper harness and swap in a solid state rec/reg

Made a tail light bracket.
Nothing special, just some thing simple.

Also got an oil cooler adaptor. It's for a 750, but I think it should be the same for the 550.
Need to find an actual cooler.

License plate bracket looks good. Doesn't have to be anything special. I can't see spending the prices some of these places are asking for their brackets. Well done!

That's kind of where I was coming from.
And I figured with the overall patina of the bike a new modern bracket with fresh Powdercoating would look funny. Goal was mostly to slim down the mount that was on the bike now.
Just used some scrap steel I had in the garage. Did buy the mount part from speedy, made the whole thing easier and cleaner.
I know it's cliche but I like the model A light.

Are you thinking of running 750 carbs? Even with a BIG bore kit, they still may be too big at 28mm, unless you do a whole lot of head work.

No, not running the CB750 carbs any time soon.
Was more a comment on having a ton of 750 parts around and not having the 550 part I needed.
Maybe if I ever "build up" a moto for this ill think about it.
For now stock is just fine. This bike is small and light.

Kinda like the slight up kick of the cycle x pipes, but need to see if they will make then in 550 diamiter

Agree that fishtails wouldn't fit this bike, maybe a simple angle cut

If your going to ask CycleX if they can make some custom diameter, might as well as if they can do a custom length too. I like the up kick of those pipes.

If you go with longer pipes make sure your brake pedal and shifter don't interfere with them. I have had that problem before with some of my choppers and I'm currently going through it now with one.
