My 78F, new paint, new engine, finally on the road!
« on: July 25, 2006, 08:10:06 PM »

After weeks of headaches I finally put 25 miles on the speedo!

Most of the headaches involved changing the F2 Top End in favor of a K and installing the good carbs.

I still need to monkey with a few minor adjustments but for the most part she is complete!

Bike looks great, Man.  Almost makes me wish I hadn't tried to go stock.

Thanks for the compliments!
I put the early carbs on it, instead of those pos late model ones.

other than the fairing and paint it is pretty much stock, I just needed a simple bike that would turn heads.

I am going to be having a BIG show next year for cafe racers, hopefully from all over the USA and maybe Japan and Europe.
Hope some of you can make it as i am having it in about 12 months time, to allow some of you lot to turn some wrenches.
it will be a right laugh.

I am busy this year and hope to find time to enjoy that gig as well as tour japan with my K5 and then the T.T.
you lot are cool on here and have been a member for quite some time, just wish i had more time to type.

Peace and Grease

And That cafe is Cool in RED.

Have a Great week you lot.

Here is the latest I am building.
The Golden Arrow.

Built Motor.
Yoshimura exhaust.
Race rims.
Stretched tank 5 inches and made ya sweat like a rapist.
Still building the front wheel and making a seat.
Should be done in a couple of weeks.

Have fun with your SOHC's gang

looking good Carpy! glad to see the arrow is progressing. you'll have to explain the poorboys rear sets to me again, I think I may try it out.

I should be able to get back out to the show next year, I'll prolly ride out! (no trailer queens allowed)

Basically other than the paint, decals (thanks steve) and fairing the bike is pretty much stock.

The Paint is Flake Apricot Red. (Thanks Don) you should see it in the sun!
It is a gold metalflake base coat, with a red candy top.
I'm still going to paint the wheel centers Black with Gold pinstriping, and a few little doo-dads here and there.

my camera sucks but I'll try to get pics of the gold pinstiping I did on it! not bad for a first attempt.

Nice bike, Angel. Love the color.  8)

What kind of fairing is that? How is it ride-wise? Does it do anything for wind or is it strictly decoration?

Hey Angel, great looking bike.
Is that the stock color?. I'm fixing to get my paint mixed next week for mine and it's
the red real similar to yours.

I got the fairing mainly for looks, but it does cut the wind a little if you tuck up under it.

Flake Apricot Red is a stock honda color but just not for that bike, Honda has some relly nice stock colors, and I prefer to use the ones I like on my bikes. I'm even am going with a 1995ish color on my 72 350twin.
