They used to make kits that you could turn your streetbike into a snowmachine for winter use.I will see if I can find a vid off the Ric Brett site with a Kaw 750 triple done up this winter. Mark rides the Snow Job

This is a Honda 550 not parked in the snow looking pretty and not just putting around in the yard like a lawn tractor.

I love the "look" of that first chopper snowmobile, I wonder how that handles. I would guess there isn't enough weight on the skis to steer it.   Sho is perty.
someone has done a cl 350, like to see how it moves

When the 3 wheeled Spiders came out , I wrote to Bombardier and asked (pleaded) with them to make a seasonal alternative for that machine which would include skis since the steering is perfectly set up to handle them, and a removable track set up , similar to the set up on the Rhino. Never get replies.... These folks make snowmobiles for goodness sake! If I can cross a bike and one of their snowmobiles together in my barn and make it work, They should be able to put out this option for the Can Am spider and have a year round vehicle, that would boost sales all year long, This would be great for ski slope rescues, state police, fire departments. , forest rangers, loggers, pipeline inspectors, high voltage cable inspectors and maintenance...... so many uses for hard to get to places...... and it can then be used in the summer.
I think this is a great idea, I could understand if they thought it would be a risky venture, but I couldn't understand why they would send no reply either way. Is this that far out in left field?

I saw a new Yamaha 450 ( I think) that had a track conversion.  I spoke with the owner for a few minutes and he said he had bought the kit from a company in Montana.  Ski in the front and a small track for drive.  He claimed it would keep up with the snomobiles.
I don't want it to go like a motorcycle, I want it to go like a rocket!

Yes , There are some very impressive set ups for dirt bikes out there, and they seem powerful enough to enjoy winter riding.
