Anybody have any experience with these repro tires I saw on DSS by Maxxis?
I know people don't have that high of a regard for the original designs but figured I would ask.

I'm not familiar with Maxxis tires, so I don't know of the quality.   If you are looking for period correct tires for the CB750K's
check out the Dulop K70 rear and Avon speedmaster for the front.  They come in the correct sizes and have almost the
identical look of those Maxxis.  Both the K70 and Avon Speedmaster are excellent tires.  I did some internet searching and
found a few people who were using that combo for sixties and seventies bikes with good results.  Of course you wont have
as good of handling as more modern design, but the K70 and Speedmaster combo probably handles better than the original
tires and has the same look.  I bought them for my K1 restoration and they look great.  The bike is not running yet, so I cant
report on how well they handle, but they look period correct.  I think BikeBandit has the Avon Speedmasters on sale now. If you get them both from BikeBandit you will get free shipping also.

Maxxis = Cheng Shin.    Didnt know that.  So that means that Maxxis = Total and absolute CRAP
I wouldnt run those tires if I got them for free.

You can do better Dukie

Just askin' since I saw them when I did my usual check of the DSS inventory and wanted to see if anyone tried them and had success.
Odds are when it comes to replacement time (and my rear is getting there) I'll replace with Avon Roadmasters.

This is just my two cents...If it was a choice between old crappy cracked tire, not riding or CS....Yeah I'd probably be on a set of CS's/Maxxis...But I'd also be asking myself, "Are these the OPTIONS ?!?"  My experience has been that the CS's actually last a while, but the rubber compound they make them with is really hard, which means less grip.  The other turn off for me was the tread designs of the front tires.  It was like a half and half of vintage tread in the center but some kind of dual sport tread on the cornering edges, not real confidence inspiring...

Another recommendation I'd throw out there...Bridgestone Spitfires.
