Thx. The RD is not totally done, I put it on the back burner and is currently at the Batcave with a few other bikes. I'll pull it out in a month or two...

I still have more Hondas but may be selling one to replenish the bike fund!
Maybe the Z1 Stev-o. That would replenish the bike fund nicely. Haha!!

Bite your tongue, DHall! It would have to be an emergency like a barn find of 3 Sandcasts for 10 Grand!

I think 1 of the CB750's can go, don't think I need 6 of them any longer.

Stev-o, I think at one point you and 'tt' were 'running neck & neck' on buying and owning lot's of sweet vintage bikes but I think you have surpassed him.  Garage/bike pics ! let's see 'em sitting in the stable man.  :)

Noooo..he's been ahead for a long time and will likely remain that way.  ;D

Steve, I've never seen 5 spoke Kawi wheels like that? I've got an '82 GPz550 carcass that has 7 spoke wheels. What year is your GPz?

Hey Scott.....it's an '82, still learning about it but have no reason to believe it's not all original.

Cleaned it up a little yesterday and noticed the front end seemed very soft when pushing down on the bars. Checked the fork air pressure, was a little low at 0!  Pumped it up to 12psi.
Went for a quick 30 mile ride this afternoon, felt better in the twisties.

Do the wheels have Kawasaki cast into the spokes, as well as tubeless and Enkie(sp?)?

Just noticed the leading axle front forks.  I may be totally wrong but that is generally a cruiser thing, and should be totally wrong for the sport oriented GPZ.  I would be checking into that.  Also not sure what year Kawasaki went to the anti-dive mechanism.
If it works good, it looks good...

The GPz forks on mine also have the leading axle, in fact, I had the forks and front wheel/brakes fitted to my Seeley for awhile; the lack of offset in the triples from the leading axle caused a major interference with the Seeley tank, so I had to limit the steering stops to keep the fork tubes from smashing it. It had the turning radius of a school bus. :o Other than that, the forks had a nice action with some Progressive brand springs that I happened to have on hand.

Yes, they are Enkei wheels made in Japan. A quick Google search showed the '81 to have seven spokes and '82 five.

No anti-dive on the '82. Here is a pic from when I had the GPz front end installed:

The limited steering lock sucked eggs, but the forks had good damping and a nice action. I would have kept them on the bike if not for the the gas tank interference issue. I think I still have the Progressive springs around somewhere.

They will be enkei Scott. A few of the smaller Kawasaki's in that period came out with 5 spoke wheels..  Just saw your next post... ;)

Just noticed the leading axle front forks.  I may be totally wrong but that is generally a cruiser thing, and should be totally wrong for the sport oriented GPZ.  I would be checking into that.  Also not sure what year Kawasaki went to the anti-dive mechanism.

Early GS1100's had leading axle forks too Sean, not that uncommon..   ;)

Got into the Cedar depot shortly after he bought it but was mostly filled with triples and 900's and other bikes that were waiting to be packed and sent overseas. He took my Son and I to his house and saw some really great machines that were keepers spread out through  the house and bedrooms and pole barn.
Hopefully he will be around in July when I take my yearly 'up north' trip. Have not caught him around lately when passing through but may try a 'special' phone # this year. I always stop and visit one of his friends who has a very large stash of 900's, around 30 the last I knew and one of those early JAP only 750 4 cylinder prototypes they were going to make before they decided on the 900.  Ran into Rick over there once after he picked up a Suzuki 350 Rebel an associate of his outbid me on at a local auction and he was kind of put off that I would happen to know this guy, thought I was trying to move in on the stash   ;D

RB is pretty much a legend when it comes to Triples, he's been into them for 30+ years.
I like when someone posts an ebay link to a nice Triple for sale, he'll pick every little detail wrong from the bike! [although it looks perfect to me]

He has an annual Birthday Bash up there, this year Aug 13th, we should try to hit one year Erik!

Get your 750 done Steve and I will happily ride your beautiful 500 and we will fit right in !!.. One thing he is a legend about is wearing hats and riding his triples wearing sandals  ;D ;D
That said though he was a very friendly man and super cordial to my son and I even though we were riding old Honda's.  Nice to make a living at something you love to do,good for him

It is some very nice riding up around Cedar Michigan, some of favorite Michigan roads. Get back around Battle Creek or Michigan we could trailer a couple of bikes up there, around 3 hours or so north to Interlochen where I normally camp in the Traverse City area.
