Sorry guys.
MY 1973 Z1 is extremely rare. Only one made  with that VIN !!  8)

It was made on a warm spring day, sun was shinning, air was clean, birds were singing and Takashi (27), who assembled the engine, was in a good moode. Because he had a good night with his wife, Yuki (23). She
practiced a trick that she learned......

Pics (of Yakashi and Yuki) or it didn't happen.............. ;D

Of course, mate.
We dont want to fable.

Her you see Takashi looking for the best crank he could get for the best engine he would ever build:

And here you see Takashi (with cap) doing his best to my engine:

And here (sorry partly hidden)

He realy was in a flow, it was a magic day!

My engine almost complete

Here you see Takashi with my engine... test showed 82 hp.
But he was a bit diaspointed anyway and felt, ther must be more inside to find..

So he did some fine tuning. Because he wanted to build the best engine ever after that night!

Because Yuki was so good to him he personaly checked that mounting to the frame was done perfactly!

and here you see my bike "yellow ball" completed

Yuki, however, is shy (but wicked, if you know what I mean)

He met her in the canteen and fell in love immediatelly!

Here is a rare pic to Yoki,

Beautiful work Sarge, I'll never doubt you again........... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Oh boy, look at this poor Z1-R

http://cgi.ebay.de/ebaymotors/1978-KAWASAKI-KZ1000-Z1R-LOW-MILES-3-991-MATCHING-NUMBERS-D-MODEL-/111435354873?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item19f21092f9&forcev4exp=true#ht_500wt_1288

3.991 miles....

Can you explane to me, how comes that there are so many low miles bikes over there that look that poor?
How are those neglekted bikes stored, outside behind the house? Or are those flood victimes?

I doubt if I could find an alomost 40 year old bike with less then 10 tkm here in Germany in such a shape.

Bought the 750 LTD cause it was so cheap, should be able to make a few bucks on it fairly easily I hope. Not on the 'keeper' list  Be kind of fun to ride it a couple times first though just to see what their like.

Back in the early 1980's when I could pick up a good Z1 for under 2 grand, I almost bought a Rickman 900 that was leaning up against the wall at Vic Wreckers here in Melbourne, for $1500. It was rough, and I wasn't impressed with some of the engineering (the rearsets for instance, were rubbish) so I didn't buy it. That one does look nice though, so it's good to see that a few survived. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I'm sure you bought it right, once you get that sprocket changed, it may be a good cruiser. My first "big" bike was the Kaw 1000 LTD, great bike to tour on, I rode it on a circle trip 'round the States.

Driving a Z1 separates the boys from the men.

Here you can see two laddies with very poor riding skills.

Trying to go away, but obviously overchallenged by the power:

Trying to get the bikes into the corner....

... but too less practice with correct braking ...

... fortunately, they are still on the drill ground and not registerred

.. after the corner again overhelmed by the power of the bike:

Lots of practice to do before those two student driver can be released to the streets!
