I like the pic of the guy hanging a wheelie while standing on the passenger pegs--  No stinking brakes for him.

Finally got the Z1-R on the street.

First ride was to the German TÜV ("MOT") and had an 1 1/2 hour full audit coverring technical issues and historical correctness.

Only finding was the short rear fender without reflector.

Doc, I love a motorcycle!

Before I bought my Z1 a year and a half ago, I was looking for an H1.
Well I found one I could not live without!  A '74 with only 4500 miles.
Bought as a non-runner but that quickly changed.  It's rideable but needs the full 2000 mile tune up...

Use to own a couple of Z900's but now I don't own them, but I have an engine which I am going to make into a Coffee Table :-)
Also thinking about having the Z1 Engine & CB750 engine in the one Coffee Table so they are back to back

Sneaked another by the other half did we?  :P

If need be I know of a 72 model without title I could pick up for a Franklin. Rough but parts none the less.

Nice find, what's next?

Yes, sneaked it in, took two bikes to the vintage bike show, came home with three (she was out shopping).
This bike is in such good shape and complete, no parts needed. I would like an extra bodywork set, but the '72 is different, but thanks.
Not shopping for anything, need to unload a 750 to build my bike fund back up.  Unless the local guy with the project CB550 emails me back!

Yo Steve, here is a quick French movie clip borrowed from RB'S site that is fun with some Kawasaki action in it. The rider on the brown H2b has recently passed away while driving his V-Max of a possible heart attack. His name is Gilles Husson and won many titles on different bikes over the years including a French 750cc production title on a Kwacker.
Wonder what the heck the rest of the movie was like   :)

Hey Eric....I like that!   Sorry to hear about Gilles, bad way to go. Or, is that a good way?!

RB has some interesting marketing techniques on his eBay items, I'm looking at buying some tank decals from him. I'm buying spare H1 body parts to have painted this winter.

Makes ya want an H2, ya know?!

Ha Ha - he does have quite a flair for marketing and he really loves to drink the wine  ;D  He claims his decals are the best in the business though and who is to argue with that I guess.

Need that?

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Lacksatz-Kawasaki-H1-500-/221600557674?pt=DE_Motorradteile&hash=item33986c2a6a

I do!  But he does not ship to US, I sent an email asking though.  I dont totllay understand the description, can you explain the bold:

"Good day, I offer here a new lackiereten paint set a H1 500. The paint set was completely sandblasted and rebuilt from Heinz Löblein from the ground up and painted. Depending on the year of construction may in the rear nor the black and white stripes before shipment nor be purely painted without further extra!"

"lackiereten" should read "lackierten" and means painted.

Heinz Löblein is a well known painter in the scene who is doing especially Kawa´s for a long time. His name stands for quality.

Can I help you? I assume shipping cost to USA is € 69 (US $ 86 if it comes in a box not bigger than 120cm x 60cm x 60 cm and less than 20kg).

(see Zone 3 for USA: http://www.dhl.de/de/paket/pakete-versenden/weltweit-versenden/paket.html)

He's is Diebach, do you know where that is?

Even with shipping, it's a pretty good value if it sells for opening bid - taking into account I can sell my current bodywork.

Are you familiar with this painter, Sgt?   Thanks.

One way 1 and 1/2 hour from where I live. But he would ship it for € 13 within Germany.

No.

Another good or, IMHO, even better adress is http://www.z-lack.de/referenzen.html

and, of course, Menno Deck. http://www.tanklackieren.de/Contact/

Menno is here in the sohc4 forum. I had my KO set painted by him. Don´t know if he´s familiar with Kawa colors.

But € 1.000 - € 1.400  seem to be a fair price for painting + hardware!
