Stev-o...I was wondering about the similarities between the K's and the Kaw's. The dash and idiot lights look similar. Will be interesting to see if those carbs are really much different. Exhaust looks similar except that each half is a unit. I take it the Kaw's are as reliable as the K's? I would not be hesitant to try something different like a Kaw restore. Looks like a fun project...
Pretty sure that's an aftermarket chain guard, the original (at least on a 73) was pretty huge and flared out to keep things clean.My sister had a 73 Z1B until 5~6 yrs ago, I'll see if I an find any pics
