I can't believe that you stooged me out of that engine Steve, I was gonna pay Godffrey a grand for it, I hope you gave him a little extra for your act of deceit? 30 pieces of silver? Hey? Oops, sorry, I have "Drama Queen" issues.........;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sorry I stooged ya, but you had your chance to buy it as I dragged my feet deciding if I really needed it (of course not, but what the hell).  My biggest once run is being able to lift and move it, I'm sure that thing is heavy.  I'm going to look into getting a rolling engine stand.

Thanks for the update and heads up. He's not the best but gets the job done. Wouldn't trust him with one of my restored bikes.
My fav shipper got out of the business and is selling yachts in Florida.

BTW - Did you see my Planet Blue K5?  Pretty rough....but cheap.

Sorry I stooged ya, but you had your chance to buy it as I dragged my feet deciding if I really needed it (of course not, but what the hell).  My biggest once run is being able to lift and move it, I'm sure that thing is heavy.  I'm going to look into getting a rolling engine stand.

Good idea mate, I might build a rolling engine stand/test unit so I can test engines before I install 'em. Geez, I've been saying that for as long as I've been playing with bikes, I really must get off my arse and do it! ;D

Good point Jon, I mean, I have to design it before I get off my arse and build it! ;D

Terry, here's an idea for a engine stand for a motorcycle engine. You could ad a backing plate with a piece of pipe to slip in a regular car engine stand..... ;)   ;D

Beautiful work there Jon, but way too simple for my complex mind. I want one with a fuel tank, battery, throttle, starter button etc. Hell, it should have wheels and a seat on it so I can test it under load too! ;D

Text me if you need a hand unloading.

I went to the Brit Jam in Haddam Neck CT on Sunday.  There was a nice example of a Z1 although it had a Kerker Exhaust rather than the stock.  I rode a Z1 in '73.  Very quick and smooth but not as quick as the Kawasaki 750 2 stroke.  That was quick!  Wound up buying a K3.

The problem with the Kawasaki 4 into 4 pipes was the same as the CB750 OEM pipes, they rotted out very early in their lives. I'd rather have a kerker. ;D

+1 Terry, kerker and a Kawasaki go hand and hand with me. It suits and old Zed nicely.

That is a beautiful Z1, thanks for posting Robbo.  No progress on mine other than I did get a spare motor from Goddfrey for it. Thanks for the offer Pecan, it is safely tucked away in the batcave for now.

I love Kerkers too, had one on my Kaw 1000 and have one for my K1 project.

This Z is getting the 4 into 4 stock style exhaust, soon.....

When you install the 4 into 4's Steve, add a cap full of two stroke oil through your gas tank every few fills, it won't blow much smoke, but the two stroke oil will be "fogged" through your pipes, and this will slow down the the rusting process.

Seriously, mine had 5000 miles on the odometer when I bought it, and the pipes were rotten. It's the chroming procedure that kills 'em, a lot of the acids and salts are trapped inside the pipes once they're done, and as soon as they get moisture inside them again, the rusting starts. Blow a fine mist of oil thru 'em, and they'll last a lot longer.

Or, if you intend to show it, install a Kerker and just put the OEM pipes on for shows. Cheers, Terry. ;D
