Thanks Dave.  It's the little things that are frustrating, like not finding quality parts.  You've had similar issues with your builds.

At least I'm not rushing to get a rider before winter settles in, it was still 90 degrees here today.

I wonder if you could soak those check valves in a mild solvent for a bit and then tightly hook-up the inlet to a Safety Clean parts washing tank(they have high volume/low pressure pumps)and try blowing some fresh parts washing fluid through the line Stev-o ?

Quick update.....if you recall, I purchased a pump and oil lines from a Triples forum member in Hawaii.  He promptly shipped them, sent tracking info, and when I tracked the package, it went through USPS in Grand Rapids MI. WTF?

Anyway, I received the parts yesterday, and all looked good...

So at lunchtime today, I stopped by my buddies shop, he had an idea to test the lines.  He had an old tool [Honda!] that he's used to pressure test engines.
We hooked the tool up to the lines, pumped the ball and around 3psi, the check valves released...woohoo!  So, I am very optimistic at this point but not super confident that this will be the last of the issues as this bike has been a roller coaster ride!!!

Here's the Honda tool...

BTW - if any of you have had Nils vapor blast parts for you, you'll know he always sends a treat when returning your parts.
Well, Mike in Hawaii does too!

I've been buying stuff from the wrong people !  Those nuts look good. That is kind of strange your package for awhile was 45 miles to the north of me after coming out of Hawaii. Seem like LA or a west coast city would be the major hub. Hope it liked our fall colors  :D

It was a screw up, he shipped it Priorty and expected delivery was Sat.   Tracking info indicated there was a delay, then USPS delivers it on Monday - a Federal Holiday.  Go figure....

Well, it is a foreign country after all.  ::)

Here's the Honda tool...

That is old-school! Looks to be the same vintage as my sync rig.

Are those oil lines nylon?

Me too!   Other surprises I've received include a key chain and a Yoshi piston

Yes, I believe they are nylon.  I bet one of you guys can figure out how to repop these

The check valves are pretty low pressure units to open at 3PSI.

I spoke to Darth [Jim] a couple weeks ago about my oil pump, he gave me good info on how to rebuild it [pretty basic].

I've posted on his KTOP oil lines thread, no response and another member mentioned he is currently not making them [he bought a custom truck with a blower and is playing with that]

Well, we have a rider!!!!   There is still a few minor little things that need to be done but once the "new" oil pump and lines were installed that issue seems to be resolved.  Bike starts right up and idles nice.  Only have done about 35 test miles so far, was out of town for five days [Florida].

First impression: this bike is fast!  I'm trying my best to keep it below 5K RPM for break-in...

Put some Break-in miles on that big 2-stroke MACHINE Stev-o  ;D  This is the best time of year, even a few night rides  :)  I don't think it will hurt the bike to let the engine spin through the gears w/o getting it up into 5th  ;)
