I don't remember seeing these in red but then again I have forgotten lots of things.

Maybe re-anodised? Never seen other than 'golden' rods.

"we know what happens then"
seems like maybe this guy won't be donating to the RC project bike.
It's a bit like showing a picture of a bike for sale... in the middle of a smoky burnout, not a great sales pitch.

I noticed those on e-bay as well. I just checked the 84 RC catalog, and they are still golden! Perhaps a customer had a hard on for red and convinced RC to have his set anodized in red instead of one of the several variations of shades of gold. I have done a good bit of looking and researching and have yet to see a red set as well.

Judging by the description...as Brent referred to....they were not to happy with the product.
And thank you guys about not seeing any red ones....I often think (and believe) I'm losing my mind but is it that bad??
What's up with the .025 off? Come on Frank......you want to answer.

A good friend of mine also had problems with the golden rods. Torqued them down and they wouldn't spin on the crankshaft, tried many bearing sets with no luck. Checked them with a mic and found them to be out of round.

They listed them for XS11as well, I think a different color.
I brought it up here before, and Mike pointed out that although listed, did not mean they were actually made.
Speaking of, anyone ever see an RC Turbo kit for a Z1 ?)

In the 1984 catalog, RC offered turbo kits for KZ900/1000, Suzuki 750/1000, and Yamaha XS 1000. Not certain how long before 1984 they were available.
But otherwise no, I have never seen those cast RC specific heat barriers on a turbo before.

There were some stroker RCs on EBay a while back that were a different color.
