I was just thinking about Lloyd the other day.
Don't know why.
He's had a huge input here and  is an intelligent thinker.
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

I can understand his frustration at times. He's gone walkabout before, maybe he'll be back after a break.

I hope he comes back, I wanted him to jump in on a few electrical and carb topics as of late to lay down the facts for a few misunderstanders.

I always appreciate TT's posts. I think some people take him the wrong way. A lot can be lost in translation on a forum.

No doubt he is an absolute wealth of information but gee wiz was he opinionated (is it safe to use my electronic ignition now and not get lectured?) and wasn't afraid to let you know his opinion whether you wanted it or not. When I first put my kids 750 together I made a comment about how we put a Kerker 4/1 on it and he promptly replied with a comment "I don't like you" and he wasn't kidding either and rambled on about how it was basically a heresy to use non factory components. I sat back after reading his reply wondering WTF did I ever do to deserve that. Thank God it had points ign or I would've been toast. Oh well opinionated or not you take him or leave him and I'm going to miss him.

However now that the "coast" is temporarily clear I'm might just order an electronic rectifier/regulator, another Kerker and to put the icing on the cake a none other than a complete Pamco ignition so that  way if and when he comes back it'll all be on the bike already and too late for him to get pissed at me,  ;)

Dunno if that's a fair description of how Lloyd works.....

He's for years answered questions to the best of his ability....which was very knowledgable.

He doesn't like people who don't listen then whinge when things don't work.

And pods.....he doesn't like pods.......POD'S!

In my case the I wasn't whining about a thing because the bike ran just fine, I was simply replying to someone elses post, it was just the mention of the Kerker for what ever reason set him off. None the less I do believe many of the tech/how to topics not to mention much of the reference material on this site was done by him so opinionated or not he was/is still an asset to this site.

+1

Point well taken. Later on I was a bit uncomfortable with my posts because I felt I was talking behind someones back which I think is very uncool if that person isn't here to defend themselves. I hope all is well with TT too.

Lloyd and I mixed it up once or twice over the years. I do respect his knowledge and he is very exact. We have had a floods of new people come in and they don't understand his style. A good number of these new people seem to have knowledge and skills. If he comes back, the site will gain a lot, if he does not it shows a childishness. Sometimes you take your lumps and let it pass.

I think we can all agree on hating it when "dick heads install cams 180 out".

I think it takes a tougher skin to advise is situations like this.  You gotta learn when to walk away, and not let it get to you. There's always some idiot that thinks he knows better.  It's one thing if you have a different view, and clearly another when it gets to name calling.  Now, I'm only guessing that's what might have happened, cause I stopped going into the tech areas every day long ago.  I browse occasionally, but I usually get to a topic I have an answer to too late, and adding my comment is redundant.
