Hi everyone. I just finished a very simple build on my cb550k. The build took just over a month to finish. I plan on riding it during the season as I live in Toronto and want to get as much riding as possible. Then do all the heavy lifting during the season.
List of things I've done:
Seafoam
Full synthetic oil change
Spark plugs
Drive chain tightened
Brake fluid
Break pads
Fork seals
Fork oil
New battery
Tank painted
Seats reupholstered
New lights ( head, tail, signal)
Potential problems: After I've done all of the changes I let the bike warm up for about 5 min. I noticed that there is smoke coming from the headers just underneath the oil pan. Is this because it isn't being cooled because it is on a stand still? Also shortly after I went to check my spark plugs and noticed that it had fuel on it. It's that normal?
I will be syncing the carbs in the next few days as I just bought the carb sync tool.
Not sure what else I should attend to mechanically wise. This is my first bike and my knowledge is very limited.
Here's some pictures of the bike
