Over 90 in Boston yesterday, wore JoeRocket jacket, boots, gloves
but darn it! left the sweater at home in Vermont.
Gotta love them Boston drivers since the Tunnel to the airport is messed up
everyone seems nicer........somehow.
WOnder if the 25 feet of chains I wore and signs on the bike "Cut me off and Die"
had anything to do with it. :o

I got a Joe Rocket armoured mesh jacket. It feels like no jacket at all. It has a zip out waterproof liner for cooler weather (thats about 2 months of the year here in Queensland).

That's 'cause she wore the Corona Corset, not the Corona t-shirt that has the magical powers.  ;D

That's what I wear (Phoenix?). I've ridden in just a t-shirt a couple of times (bad self!) and it's actually cooler with the jacket on, and it's all black. I guess because the sun isn't beating directly on my skin. Plus, you don't get sun/wind burn with the jacket.

it was only 16 degrees C (61 deg F) here today

That's what I was thinking! That's a beautiful temp.! I thought you were a tough guy, Terry!  ;D ;D ;D

I usually ride in a t-shirt and jeans (reg. old jacket when it gets chilly)
I have wore shorts on my scoot (once) , and vowed to never do it again.

It is rare that you can get away with a t-shirt on a motorcycle in Chicagoland.
Thw wind of the lake makes it a bit chilly at times. I wore shorts to the Mods Vs. Rockers show, but it was over 100 that day  :o

How people wear full riding gear + a helmet when it is that hot I do not know...

Yeah! How do you keep your brains cool in a black helmet? I promise I'll dress better if someone can tell me!

normally just jeans boots and a tee shirt . when cooler i take a leather jacket along also . when as hot as it has been here in Fresno . a few weeks of like 113 or more I do not even ride as have to wear a helmet . I just am not up to cooked brains so when over 100 I do not ride at all. In Idaho I did ride in shorts as the air would always break down on the bus that i drove so had to stay cool for them 12 hour shifts . with all that glass you really can cook let me tell you . but last week it was to hot to even think about riding . lows at almost 90 at night and highs in the 110 plus thats when i stay home or use the old truck if i have to go out .

Well I'm glad to see that a few more of you have now admitted that you don't like to wear all that crap on a hot day, and I for one don't agree with the "I'd rather sweat than die" mantra that often appears here, let me tell you I've ridden on days so hot here I've almost fainted when wearing all that stuff.

As I said, not pc, but it's hard to have your wits about you when you're brain juices are boiling inside a full-face helmet in 100+ degree temps. I often wonder how many riders in collisions on hot days were already unconcious when they went down....................  ??? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Doggoneit. You fellows are gonna have me going back to my 70's apparel.
I remember being caught in rain storms with shorts, no shirt, and tennis shoes.
Oh, I did have on an open face helmet mind you :)

I figured out a long time ago how foolish it would be to crash while dressed in t-shirt, shorts and a backwards baseball cap.  So I resolved not to crash when dressed that way.  I realize refraining from crashing isn't for everybody, but it works for me. ;)

A thong ;D.  Leather of course ;D ;D.

I'm supprised no one is wearing ass-less chaps. Comfortable, offers some protection and what a fashion statement. :D and remember no leather thong is complete with out studs (the metal one of course) ;D

Funny you should mention that.

During the summer I work outside all day, and I wear shorts.  To get to and from work when I ride, I put my chaps on over my shorts and it at least appears that I am wearing jeans.  I will not ride bare-legged.

I also always wear a leather jacket.  When it's very hot, I unzip the main zipper a little less than half-way and open all the zipped vents.

I wear a Firstgear armor mesh jacket, too bad I don`t have a pic of the one I had on when I went down. It sure saved my skin !!

As long as you`re moving it feels cooler than riding without one because it keeps the direct sunlight off of you.
Always wear a flydana under the helmet and at every fuel stop just get it wet with cold water and it keeps my head cool.

My bike wears an oil cooler  ;)

Well that's right of course Steve, an oil cooler for a SOHC4 is like riding in a T shirt and jeans for us, ha ha! ;D

Shorts, flip flops, and a helmet.

I'm amazed at how many people I've seen this this 'riding gear' lately.

If it gets that hot I ride the bus.

No matter what I ALWAYS wear my jacket (Joe Rocket Alter Ego).  It has a panel that zips off to reveal a mesh jacket underneath.  I'll wear jeans instead of my cordura overpants but I will put my Icon Under Armor leg protectors on.  Light weight leather gloves and "high top" style motorcycle boots always.  I can't understand how anyone can ride in shorts or with no protection.   :o  One well placed rock at 50 MPH will wake you up!   What really gets me is when the rider has the right gear on but the passenger (usually his girlfriend ) is wearing nothing but  a tank top, g-string and flip flops!!!  Great to look at but not on the back of a moving bike!  One crash on the Bay Bridge in California without a scratch in heavy traffic lets me know that sweat feels a lot better than road rash!

Ride SAFE!

I got a Joe Rocket armoured mesh jacket. It feels like no jacket at all. It has a zip out waterproof liner for cooler weather (thats about 2 months of the year here in Queensland).

That's scarey Jane - I ended up getting the exact same Jacket - I remember seing yours when I was at your house but I didn't remember what make it was. And yes- it's brilliant. Need the waterproof liner at the moment though it's bucketing with rain here at the mo! :'(
