Look What Was At Stafford on Saturday
« on: April 28, 2013, 01:46:37 am »
I couldn't really comunicate effectively with the french guys  ( I struggle to speak english with any fluency sometimes  ;D)who had the bike on their stand , but the card on the fuel tank seemed to suggest that it was the Dick Mann bike .Whether it is or not I wouldn't really know ,but it was nice to be able to have a good look at it though, whatever it was.  8) 8).

Think that's the replica that is currently for sale in Europe, for $25K US.

This is the Daniel Mercier bike claimed to be the Daytona Dick Mann bike....but if it is then what's the one in Florida reputed to be the Dick Mann bike? Talking to Tony Huck in the paddock on the day he was unequivocal that this is NOT the Dick Mann bike but then I guess that debate will go on long after we're all pushing up daisies :D

I'd say the provenance is impossible to prove. I'd think it would be a case of "you pays your money and you takes your chances". That said, it is a nice bit of kit !

However I saw another nice bit of kit for sale "Honda CR750 Hishiki Sumiya Suzuka replica"  with impeccable provenance !  ;)

Ha ha you could try Sam, it's got no wheels in it, all bodywork and exhausts off too. I need to sell A bike but don't want to sell this one so I figure if it's in enough bits, it has to be the Ducati tat gets sold lol! Besides, bagged me a kit clutch lever and oil catch tank recently so more mods to tinker with  :P

So if anyone wants a rare Ducati 851 kit homologation Superbike, the last that left the factory, no 206 of 207, but one of only approx 50 left on the planet, 100% original with Ducati factory paperwork confirming the same, I'm open to offers....
