New Here..just purchased a 77 f2..questions
« on: April 28, 2013, 03:14:34 PM »
Hello all. I have just purchased a 77 CB750 Supersport. I am currently in the teardown process, and have a few questions.
Does anyone have a diagram/pics of the vents and where they go ? I see the top half of some type of breather canister, attached to the bottom of the battery box, but I am wondering if I can just vent to a filter and remove the breather canister ? I have three vents with no hoses. 1)oil tank  2)top of motor 3) bottom of motor
Any advice on a good 4-1 ? and one last question, is there any way to do the gauge faces rather than replace them?

  Thanks, Moondog

Welcome!  Gauge faces are rebuildable, I did mine.  I live in the southwest and my stock gauges were burned up by the sun (faded).  I purchased a pair of rusted out gauges from a guy in boston, but the actual face was pristine and swapped.  Also set the odometer back to zero.

Sure you can but you should not it is called a breather separator it has 3 hoses 2 at the top 1 at the bottom the bottom is a drain that should have a plug on it and you drain the junk out once in a while the 2 at the top 1 goes to the valve cover and the other top one goes to the air filter box. The diagram is in the Honda service manual section 1-11 I think the one from the oil tank goes to the bottom of the motor but not sure so check on this one.

Thanks Ken.. I am stumped on where these hoses go. I just bought a separator on ebay and all I need now is some help on where the hoses go. Thanks.

Anyone have a pic/diagram ?    thanks.

If you download the manual from this site it shows the routing on 1-11. I will see if I can scan it from my copy I just changed over to windows 8 am not to good with it yet. However you really need to download if for future use it is really good to have.

At first I took mine off then after talking with TT I put it back on it keeps a vac. or negative pressure on the bottom end and if you look how things flow it goes through the filter box but not the filter itself.

I don't think anyone addressed this one yet -

The tube coming out of the oil tank (which is an overflow) gets connected directly to the tube coming out of the bottom rear of your case.
