Rear brake pad pins - am I missing something? 1976 CB750F

These are the pad pins in the rear caliper on my 76 CB750F. See that black line on the one on the right? That's where the pin is all the way pushed in. After riding, this is where it ends up. Is that right? I don't see a retainer in the parts diagram...

Yeah, there's a cover that goes over the top.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

You gonna do the Blue Ridge Parkway ride on 5/17? Hooligan Run. A group from ATL set it up and a group from Nashville is joining them near Chattanooga. I'm planning on meeting them in Waynesboro, VA at the northern end/beginning.
