CB550 F Airbox rebuild
« on: May 02, 2013, 01:13:54 AM »
Hi all,

I am putting my CB550F airbox back together but I need some advice as it was all in pieces when I got it.

I have some airbox foam to replace the paper filters which would have been on the original bike.

Do I need to oil this foam or do I just stick it in the relavent areas?

I see there is a breather tube which should attach the the bottom of the airbox. Is it important to have a tube attached or can it be left off? If it is required would a piece of fuel line suffice or do I need the real deal?

Thanks!

Check out Sohron's rebuild.  Page 5 has everything you need to know and is super well documented ( both the write up and pics).  It's actually worth reading the whole thing, as it is both entertaining and informative.

Good luck!
