400F Petrol Pipe Protector Finish?

I’m not 100% sure of the finish on the on this part, I think it was painted black originally? I‘ve cleaned this one up I got off ebay it was just rust when I got it, any 400 people got one on their bike and could tell me if it’s painted or zinc coated? So I can win a bet with my friend.

Thanks for the answer….I never knew you could get that coating, now I need a place that will do it, I’ve only had parts bright zinc coated…….I lost the bet! This is turning out to be one expensive part  ;D
