Paint color match for the 750 cases
« on: May 09, 2013, 04:39:18 PM »
Sorry to add another paint thread, but I couldn't find anything on this one:

The stock paint color of the cases on my 75 CB750F cases is slightly different than the paint on the jugs and head. Does anyone know what Duplicolor is a close match?

I think I asked this question before, and was told the cases are the same color as the jugs/head, and even though it didn't look like that on the three bikes I have I just assumed the color looked slightly different due to age/heat cycles.  But... I recently had a close look any my buddy's 1976 CB750F near mint bike, and the case paint is clearly more greyish/tan than the jugs and head.

Maybe the earlier 750's had everything painted aluminum, but the 75/76 CB750F definitely had a slightly different case color.

I just finish painting my engine parts with Duplicolor 1615, and it looks great.  But I would really like to get as close to stock colors as possible.  Anyone know of a close color match for cases?

Thanks
- Chris
