Need Electrical Help Again
« on: May 07, 2013, 12:44:48 pm »
Hi, when trying to start my bike, if the kill switch is in the (no start) position, it will crank and I have lights and lighted neutral switch light. If I put kill switch to start position, I blow 15A fuse. I have no idea what to do next?

Well, my gut instinct is that since that's not normal behavior for the start switch, that's the first part you want to test.  Time to get out the ol' multimeter.  You'll want the shop manual that has the circuit information for the switch, so you can test the correct continuities.

If you take apart the switch for any reason (or none), be careful because it's probably spring loaded.  Some people recommend disassembly inside a bag to contain parts going "sprung".

Pretty sure you have your coils hooked up to a regular black and not black/white for coils to function in the off position

That kill switch provides the power to the coils black/white .  Check the wiring from and to the coils back thru into headlight bucket.
