....though Honda's fiche indicates it was 76. I got into an arguement with a guy inspecting my bike about the first year of production (VIN tag had been removed secodary to powdercoating).. My final response was "listen numbnuts I've owned this thing for 25 years- I know what year it was made". It's those little things that get me through the day. ;D

I have a 75 SuperSport but honda said that they didn't make them until 76, so I guess mine is a 75 then, thanks guys

honda also says they didn't make the GL1000 until 1976 yet I have a 1975 front end sitting in my garage. For all their engineering you would think they could add. Anyway I have always heard that 1975s were rare because they were a late introduction. That only bikes made before september of 1975 are true 1975s, bikes made in spetember or after are actually 1976s. To complicate things bikes in some states used to be registered by the first year of registration which means a leftover 1975 could have been titled/registered as a 1976. Someone out there has to have the vin number breakdowns.

Not sure if this helps with the supersport specifically, but it's handy anyway.  Look up your engine and frame #'s here for model, sell date, etc:

while it doesn't list a release date the hondachop reference states that for 1975 CB750F0 your vin should be between: CB750F-1000002  and  CB750FE-2500004
