There's been talk of a quick Boston detour and then a meet-up with Apostrophe in Albany for the continuation of journey West. Not sure of the details, but like I said in the Team 5 thread, I'm trying to be very conscious of the cold weather settling into the Midwest soon; making GZ riding less desirable there.

+1 on the cold weather.   We do not make a smooth transition from summer to winter.  One day its 85 and sunny, then all the sudden its 45 degrees and a month of rain lol.

Haha yeah but it's not gonna last much longer.  Usually by the end of September things take a dive.

Like I said on the Team 5 thread, it would be great if you got a chance to participate, Crush, and it would also be good for guys like Anders to be able to participate. But if you ride him up to NH there needs to be a firm plan to get him to Toronto or Buffalo, and it can't wait until the next weekend to happen.

If you take him up to NH this weekend someone needs to be able to ride him to Buffalo or Toronto on Tuesday or Wednesday or else he needs to get put in a box and shipped. GZ needs to be on his way through Ohio by the weekend of the 7th/8th. If we could get some weekday riders and have him in Detroit or Kalamazoo by the 7th that would be even better.

I agree completely, Danny. If it comes down to Boston being bypassed completely then so be it, especially with my planning being so last minute. I understand the importance of keeping GZ moving along and not allowing him to stay stagnant  for too long.

I've reached out to Apostrophe in Albany to coordinate as well as Magilla, who I know lives in Western Mass but might not have signed up. The ideal situation would be to have GZ make the racing trip to NH and continue movement onward (whether West to Albany via Magilla and Apostrophe or North to Toronto via I-don't-know-who).

It's possible that I could take a weekday off work to ride but I'd have to be met by someone and home the same day.

Magilla didn't know what or who GZ was so I replied to him giving him the run-down and my thoughts on movement into NY. I'll keep everyone posted, but at the very worst I can box him (sorry GZ) post-races and get him to the next location whether it be Albany, Buffalo or Toronto.

I'm retired and can get him through Ohio during the week. I would hate to cut out any other riders who have to work, but I agree about the weather.

GZ is in the mail to me in Boston. I am going to ride and meet with Ian (Apostrophe) on Saturday for a hand-off. He'll take the lizard back to Albany and hopefully get another handoff into Tripps on Sunday ultimately ending in Buffalo for the start of next week.

From there, is it up north to Ottawa with Larry?

I think the window to get him to Larry has passed. We need to get him headed west and not northeast. Since Becken has offered to move him during the week I hope that we can take advantage of that.

Selfishly I would love to see him find his way to Michigan by the weekend of the 7th/8th.

I hate to cut out Larry & Bruce, but the stars are not aligning too well.  'bout all I can think is if Larry picked up GZ from Tripps at the ON/NY boarder, then rode thru ON, and handing it back to Tripps in Buffalo.

There are some weekday riders (Becken in OH and Artsqu & maybe Dave in Detroit) so if we can get a timely handoff from Tripps to the Ohio riders, then kicking off the Michigan ride on Friday the 6th is doable.  All meet at Tawas Friday nite, ride up the Huron shore & tunnel of trees on Saturday, camp at Cycle Moore Sat nite, ride the Lake Michigan shore on Sunday to ?? Then all return home on Monday, PimpZilla heads to ChiTown on a Wing!

MJ, would you be able to ride to Tawas after your afternoon routes or are ya guna be at the cabin that weekend?

From Tripps in the Team 5 thread...

What about doing both legs Sunday? If I got an early start, I could be in Syracuse by 11:00 am, if someone was willing to meet me in Erie, PA, I could probably make it there by 4:00 or 5:00?

Can anyone make it to Erie, PA on Sunday evening??

I just looked at the Team 5 thread and it looks like they have a few challenges to overcome. My schedule for this week is family time today and Monday. I'll be tied up Tuesday morning and evening; noon to about 3:00 is the only chance for me to ride that day. The rest of the week looks wide open. I'll try to check my email and this thread more often until we get GZ through Ohio.

I haven't heard from Ian since yesterday but have a PM into him about rescheduling. My option right now is to meet tomorrow or Tuesday in Brattleboro, VT or Greenfield, MA. I'd prefer tomorrow as it's a day that I don't have to take off of work, but I'll flex.

The halfway trip to Buffalo is does not appeal to me as a one-day solo GZ run during the week but again, if it has to happen then I'll do what I can.

Bruce,

I will be done with my runs by 5:30pm, I hope.  I'd be lucky to get there by 8:30-9:00pm.  That sounds pretty iffy to me.  I'm usually at the Bus Lot by 5:00 in the morning and that would make it a very long day.  But maybe I'll be done earlier, this is a new route for me.  If I pack before hand and leave straight from work, maybe.  If anyone was going up M-15 through Davison around that time, they could meet me at the Bus Lot and we could go up together.  At any rate, let me know where you plan to meet in Tawas and well see.

At the rate GZ is moving along, it's looking like he may not be in MI for a couple of weeks.  Is the MI crew planning on meeting up to do the Tunnel of Trees when GZ gets here or has everything been scheduled for this weekend?

I've ridden that stretch of road several times on my bicycle- would be great fun on the CB.
