I've been lurking for some time and decided to finally join up. I'm an old iron butt with a new toy...a '74 cb550 that's going through rehab. I've also picked up a donor bike...a '76 cb550. I currently have an 84 Sportster and an 88 Heritage softail. The Sporty I bought new...and it only has 12K miles on it. The Heritage...also new...140,000 original..no teardowns...4 trips to Sturgis and a couple of 9,000 mile tours of the US.....back when I could do such things. I bought my first bike...with paper route money in 1967....a brand new BSA Super Lightning. The first of a couple. I cafe'd them and then after college moved on to Japanese bikes. Between jobs I worked as a wrench in a Honda dealership from 1973-1975. Quit and went to work for Suzuki Corporate for almost 10 years. I've raced in the dirt, I've climbed, I've raced on pavement. I've even shot a motorcycle into a tree.....have the picture to prove it.
