Been away for a bit mostly due to arm and nerve issues related to computer time.  Since I make my living with my hands this is a big deal.  I have cut way back on time spent on the internet, maybe 2-3 hours per week and things are much better and I found out that that's all I really need for email and purchases, etc.  Everything else, porn ;D, and entertainment is out.
The other contributing factor was just the time spent.  I looked at it recently and just on this site it was just too much....I found it alarming actually.  This is going to be a very busy summer for me with several big things I want to get done, boat, bikes, house, and a long vacation so I just don't have that time to spend on the internet anymore.  I'll check in now and again but I just won't be back on any regular basis.  Maybe I'll see some of you on the road around the Twin Cites this summer.

Porn and cat pictures are very important for ma mental health. They are provided mainly from internet...I do understand you shift on priority, though. Good luck.

when I was riding 100 or more miles a night I had the numb hands, not unlike working on a fishing boat.  I just try to ignore it.

I've been through that too. One day you realize you spend more time with online people than with real people, and you know that it's fair to spend more time with the people around you. Take a break from the internet, it's good for you. I use the web every day, but on summer I travel for two weeks with the family to the beach with no computer whatsoever and, believe it or not, I don't miss it? It is good for the mental health to take a break every now and then.

We will be around when you come back

why not just hire a secretary to take dictation surfing the internet for you?
You can deduct her salary from the business income.

I'm not around as much lately because of cheese. :)

I'm studying to become an American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional.  I take the exam at the end of July.  I just spent a week in Wisconsin learning from the best of the best and touring several cheese-making facilities.  It's fascinating and a fantastic experience, but it's requiring a lot of studying and reading.

Instead of?  :o  I have very little down-time at home to begin with  ::)
I have 4 kids. (boys 10&7, twin girls 3)
I volunteer coaching baseball for kids with special needs.
high-functioning kids to wheelchair-bound with CP. (my youngest son qualifies for this team)
I build and repair custom fly rods and instruct recurring rod-building classes at a local fly fishing shop.
I am a USPTR Certified Tennis Professional.
I teach 8-10 hours per week, and play on and coach several nationally ranked adult teams.
I get my riding in to and from my various jobs.
I work on my CB and drink whisky or tequila when all of the above is done and the house is quiet.

I spent a lot of time online after breaking up with the woman I wanted to marry.....slipped into a slight depression as is normal in that situation. Now I need to get my gears back in order and work on the new house (one year and I haven't done a thing!) I have to remodel two bathrooms, a kitchen, and the den is getting turned into a man cave/motorcycle shop/garage-mahal. Then I have to do the yard...landscaping, screen in the back porch, get new windows, hurricane shutters. This should keep me busy all this year. Then I can have a lot of fun next year, instead of just an evening event with friends once in a while. The bike rides after work and on Sundays will keep me smiling...that's why getting my bike done was my first priority. I KNEW it would snap me out of my funk and get me going again, and it did.   :D
