does the cb750F master cylinder have a larger bore?
« on: July 29, 2006, 12:05:44 PM »
i saw someone mention in passing that they had an F master cylinder on their bike because it was made with a larger bore for the supersport dual disk setup. can anyone verify/debunk this? i can't find anything in microfiche (or in a thread search on here) to prove one way or the other, except for a different part #.

i've yet to find a replacement master that i think looks anywhere near as good as these old ones do polished up. my stocker with SS brake lines stops great. if i could keep a genuine SOHC4 master that would push enough fluid for two calipers, i'd be a happy camper.

The stock master cylinder for the dual disc 750F models is most certainly a larger bore than the MC for the K models.  I have one of these guys on my 78K that has a GL1000 dual disc setup on it and it works nicely.  Just remember that you will need the rebuild kit, and lever specific to the F2/F3 models.  I could not locate an aftermarket rebuild kit so I purchased a Honda one thru David Silver's. Beware of  badly corroded parts as they aren't good for anything more than paper weights. Enjoy.

The alloy bodied master cylinders all look pretty much the same except perhaps the resevoir is a bit bigger on the F2/F3 ones.  It also will have the provision for the brake lite microswitch which is a good bit cleaner looking than the pressure activated lite switches.

As I said before, the bore size for the master cylinder for the F2/f3 models is larger than the Ks and the F/ F1 for that matter.  The ID's are something like 17mm for the F2/F3s and 14mm for the Ks.  Emgo's listing is in error.
