Front brake light switch?
« on: May 11, 2013, 02:29:20 PM »
Hello!

I recently bought a front master cylinder from a cb 750 sohc. I dont know the exact year but its an plastic reservoir one. Im using it on one of my builds but i dont have a brake light switch for it and i cant reallly find one to order (and i dont really know what im looking for)

Doesn anyone here have a picture on a master cylinder with the switch mounted, or just the switch?

Best regards
Johan

It would be better if you post a pick of what you have so we will know what might go with it. Also what bike you are trying to put it on.

Isn't the brake light switch on the lower triple tree?
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I have the tree (from a 550), as well as a banjo brake switch from Sligshot Cycles if you're interested in either.

Switched to a Nissin lever with electronic switch...

Switch is on the front knuckle as seen in the above link.
What you have taken a picture of is a stop/return post thats missing. It guides the brake lever from over extending as far as I can tell. Some of the old timers will step in and correct this i'm sure. :p

You see here there is a plate, post and nut you are missing from there.

Thanks for all the great help! I just ordered a banjo bolt with a switch in it. It will fit right up by the master cylinder so i can run the rest of the setup from the 81ยด.

Best regards!
