New Ignition Coils broken?
« on: May 13, 2013, 07:26:49 PM »
Still in the midst of my build I am finally getting my wiring done. Im to the point of working on the ignition. While wiring my ignition through tests I've seen on youtube and read online I determined my coils were done for, so I ordered a new pair (cb750supply). They get here today and I hook them up. No spark. Thinking I have my wiring incorrect I decide to test them using an Ohm meter. The reading between the ground bar (frame attachment point) and primary connections (male tabs connecting to wiring harness) are both correct. Im getting no reading between the secondary wires (boots) and the primary (tabs). the wires are attached so I had to do it from the ends of the wires. I tested my other bike to see if maybe I was going about it wrong or something but those readings came out right. I cant believe that I would receive 2 brand new coils that didnt work. anybody know whats going on?

The secondary circuit is from HT lead to HT lead not to the bar
