Hi guys :
First let me apologize for not posting sooner.
Just ran into other problems with the bike and then I got busy at work.
We ran the bike on the dyno with stock carbs and then with the CR carbs.
It was obvious that the mixture was very rich with both set ups, so we gave up I took the bike home then in between jobs I took care of each problem one at the time.
Problems:
I was getting 11 V. at the ignition coils. Too much resistance on the wire between ignition and coil.
Carb rubber intakes, despite of being new the were slightly cracked and the clamps were to big for them.
The new battery was not holding the charge.
Solutions:
I double up on the ignition wire.
Got new rubber intakes and new slimmer clamps.
Made and installed carburetor brackets to hold the carbs to the frame.
Got new battery.
Set the carbs as follow:
Pilot jet: #60
Main jet# 120
Jet needle 3 down from the top
Fuel mixture screws at 3/4 of a turn.
The bike is running very good.
Small hesitation from low to mid range,(lock of accelerating pump?) it gets better after bike its nice and warm.
Im running for 2 weeks now with this setting and all is fine, I tried to lean the mixture to 1 full turn and see what happens but the bike did not like that, it was hard to start and the hesitation got much worst, got a little better when bike warmed up but much more noticeable.
I think that 3/4 its perfect for it otherwise it may get too rich.
I was ridding today and I ran into a bad tropical storm, it was raining sideways, heck it was raining down side up
I thought, if I'm going to have a fail on this bike it will be today, (with pod filters exposed to the elements)
But no, My 750 got me home OK.
FYI
I was in touch with the Dynoman crew at all times and they were very informative and helpful.
No problems here riding the CR carbs on a semi stock bike.
I got this bike close to 120 MPH for the first time since I had it, bike pulls harder and the exhaust system sounds very aggressive.
