Parts N More electric start solenoid
« on: July 31, 2006, 07:08:56 AM »
Anyone have experience with these?

Well, I purchased one. And I am have a question before I put it on and break it. The yellow and black wire coming from my CB750 has the same connector end as the yellow and black wire that comes on the Parts N More solenoid. The solenoid on my bike was an original piece.

Should I use the colors as a guide and clip the ends and put new connectors on or should I just match up the current connectors.

the other wire coming form the bike is Black. and coming out of the Parts N More solenoid is green and black, if I recall correctly.

Confusion here.
1) Does "the same connector end" mean both are female and can't connect, or that they are the correct connecting male/female pair?
2) Contradiction with "the yellow and black wire that comes on the Parts N More solenoid" and "coming out of the Parts N More solenoid is green and black" ... which is it?
Anyway...
If the connectors connect, connect them.
A DC solenoid should work regardless of polarity and neithersolenoid wire should be internally grounded. It's possible to make a solenoid that needs a particular polarity but also more expensive and complicated.

Sorry, Let me clear that up.

there are 2 wires coming out of the Parts N More Solenoid 1)Yellow and red, 2) Black and Red (not black and green like previously mentioned).

The yellow an red wire coming out of the Parts N More Solenoid and the yellow and red wire that is coming from the bike has the same connector end(Female/Female or Male/Male) I need to look at it again to verify the type. But but none the less they are of the same type and don't connect.

The other wire that is coming out of the Parts N More solenoid is a black and Red (not black and green like previously mentioned).

Wait, Parts N More just got Back to me. They said just to connect to the corresponding connectors.

Thanks for looking and helping.
