Clutch springs
« on: May 16, 2013, 05:35:44 AM »
I searched this topic and only got old threads, pardon me for starting another...

I pulled the clutch springs on my 78 750 k. I ordered a new set to go with my new plates (and cover). The springs measured 39.84mm. My manual says they should be replaced if they are shorter than 30.5mm. Not even close. Ok, so thats a good size difference. But my new set I ordered are at 44.40mm! Thats almost 14mm larger than what my manual says is minimally acceptable... And still about 4.5mm larger than what came off. This is very confusing. Maybe someone could shed some light on me?

I just replaced my clutch springs with a set of Barnett's last week. I did not measure the difference, but they were visually identical.

Different lenghts for different models. 44,4mm must be wrong!
