Problem fixed. It was the ignition switch. When I bought the bike the guy somehow removed the key with it in the on position. I had to get a key for it. The tumblers were a little off and a locksmith said he attempt to fix but would be cheaper to find a replacement or run as is. It worked but you had to push the key forward to engage.

I use the hacked up ignition and cut the wires off of the bad ignition. Rewired and used shrink wrap to secure the wires. Works great now. I am looking for a non hacked ignition though.

Thanks for all the input. I learned how to use a multi meter!

With the number of bikes you have been through the past couple years I am amazed that you didn't already know. My GoldWing would be a large doorstop if I didn't know how to trace a circuit with my multimeter.

I've ben fortunate with the bikes. Usually when an electrical problem occurs I take the time to plug and play. Shoot, last week I learned how to rebuild a clutch thanks to member Godfffrey.

If you're looking for a replacement ignition then I would use an old original one rather than cheap asian emgo. See my previous post.
