Yes the seat and pipes will be the first to go!!!   and the rack.

this will be my mint build this year.  i did not get a good deal on this bike but still fair at 1500.00  Trying to buy them up when i can. prices are going up up up.  Ill move this to a build thread when i get started. will be a while.
Runs great, titled.  Great candidate to get back to the stock bike it should be :P   Its highly likely ill be selling the tank and sides they are in pretty nice shape but not my color.

I would lose the seat, but I liked having a rack on my bike so that I could use it for one bag trips the the grocery, or to strap down my messenger bag when riding to the office.

Yesterday-- I picked up the same bike same color. I got the 4 into 4 as addition parts. 8000 miles on the clock also $ 1500. -- I too would be interested in your painted parts especially if you left side cover is in good shape-- mine is just hanging on.

I have a full set of side covers and tank in boss maroon I'd consider trading.

That was the one that was for sale in Michigan City Indiana on CL recently that Tews called on and showed up pretty quickly on E-bay from a flipper.Nick might still have the original owners family number if you wanted a little more history on the bike. Think the man that owned it died. That bike has changed hands at least 3 times within a month or so.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CB-Honda-cb-750-four-1973-/200921126485?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item2ec7d51655&vxp=mtr

What are the serial numbers? I've often hoped to find someone with a K2 early that was close to mine. I have the 530th K2 to be imported to US, also has a K1 leftover engine, but is stamped with a "2..." serial number. All of these that I have seen came with #110 mainjets in #657B carbs, caused considerable plug fouling problems at first.

I thought that bike had some good potential Tango, always like the ones that were owned by the older guys and mostly all original than just put up. It had a fairing on it originally so those are probably pretty easy miles on it.  Glad it went to a good home.

The first reported K2 imported US was 2004000. (Mine is 2004530.) The other 4000 were sent to Japan and Europe as part of the first "build" of 8000 units, so the story went. I had 'connections' to the shop in Peoria, IL at the time (where I had worked and attained the famed nickname that still dogs me) and Peoria was, in those days, a premier Midwestern place for performance vehicles of all types, like Daytona Chargers, Superbirds, super-rod Novas and Chevelles, and of course every kind of hot Mustang you can name. Along with that 'profile' came the hot bikes of the era. My mentor on the 750 (Jim Chamberlain) had the #1 K0 sandcast sold there in 1969, serial #100...7nn, and I still remember the Honda rep coming there one day and Jim letting him take it for a ride on the same day I picked up my K2. The Rep's wide-eyed response when he came back from the ride was, "My god, I've never ridden a 750 that fast! What have you done with it?". Jim's K0 was box-stock but for the Vetter Phantom fairing that was on it.

Jim got me the K2 I still ride, from that same rep. I traded my crooked-framed K1 to get it. (The story behind that one is in the "Suspension" chapter in my book.) I have to say today that, aside from the trade I made from wife 1.0 to wife 2.0, it was the best swap of my life. :)
