took me a while to find this clip on facebook but I knew it was only in the last few days.
This is from Ian King, European Top Fuel Champion.

Ian King Guy Martin wanted to ride my bike for a series later this year but his management said it was too dangerous....

To be on the start line as part of a team at the TT is just the best (and most nervous) moments of your life!

To be at the finishing line when he come home first..............well then it goes onto another level 8)

Maybe Sam ;) ;D ;D ;D Actually is takes balls to participate in either...the thread title is just a joke. ;) There is one scene in that video that shows a solo rider literally eating up that fairly straight part of the course.....pretty amazing footage. That and the scene when the rider is going through the wooded area. :o
I also thought about the starting Marshall patting each rider on the shoulder at the start....for too many riders that was the last person to touch them.

I like going fast on a bike, but I have always been in awe of those riders. I'll admit to being a pu$$ie.........because the thought of a road course scares the #$%* out of me.

There's a huge difference between racing a road course and a race track. No question about the Duhamels.

no thats easy , being on the start line and expected to do six 120mph laps when someone waves the flag is hard .

They were doing 180mph in the 70s, probably well over 200 now.
120mph is an average lap speed on a slow bike. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well having done both......there's more than one reason I went back to Dragracing! ;D Both do take cajones, but the skill and physical demands of road racing more challenging for sure....and more expensive! Bill

Awesome to watch, going to the isle of Man for the TT( as a spectator) is on the top of my bucket list. Btw, one thing that has blown me away, and this is reinforced by this clip, is that appears that the course is not fenced in completely. Is that true?? Yikes!

I was there last year, you are right, pull up a bit of grass or sit on a nice stone wall, or get behind their piece of rope blocking a road !! Absolutely fantastic, as are the Irish road races, NW 200 ete. Would love to go again.

Yes no fencing. Spectators are protected by stone walls, their garden gate, bales of hay etc.....if you want a good spot at one of the corners you need to get up early and ride there...once the roads are closed nothing moves until the race is finished. Its like nothing you have ever seen before.

Mad Sunday is when anyone and everyone takes to the same course and rides as fast as they like (no speed limits). I recognise some parts of the Mountain course - I did this on my CB750F2 - going flat out at +100 mph and being passed by most ;)
