77 electrical issues
« on: May 22, 2013, 10:02:45 AM »
New to forum and Hondamatics, have ownwed 750's before. Recently bought a '77 750A for the wife. Has the windjammer IV fairing. Front running lights not on, Neutral light on constantly, no gear indicator lights. Gas gauge inop. Do any of you think this could be caused by the fairing? It does have the plug and play adapter. Also, it has aftermarket Driving/Foglights added.

Certainly the fairing didn't cause the problem - the person that installed the fairing may have screwed with the wiring in the headlight shell . . . .

You'll have to remove the fairing to access all the wiring.  There's a schematic available for download on this page.
1978 CB750A (upgrading very, very slowly)

Past bikes - Honda: SL350, CX650C, CB900C, CB1000C, CM450A; Kawasaki: several 1972 750 H2's; Suzuki: TC90J.

Bikes I want: CX650ED, a mid-sized japanese V-twin with ABS.

Have the fairing off. Looks like there have been some wires cut, unplugged and some are missing the side they plug into. This could be fun.
