Using a a template I found here on SOHC4 I managed to drill and chamfer the rotor. It took nearly an entire afternoon but it was well worth it.

Thank you to member SKTP for posting the template!

Can you post that template here somewhere so I can use it too at some point! thanks!

Beautiful color man! What seat is that?
Thanks! The seat is from the eBay seller "hondaclassics31." I didn't have any problems buying from him but I've read some horror stories from others who've bought from him on this forum and some others, just a heads up. I've got a link to the seat though earlier up in the thread.

Can you post that template here somewhere so I can use it too at some point! thanks!

Here's the template, You might have to do some trial and error to get it to print the correct size.

The seat reminds me of my HTMoto Seat (http://www.htmoto.us/):

They can do all kinds of finishes.  Mine has ostrich on the flat portion of the seat.

A drastic improvement from the original:

The stock seat is a beauty compared to this.

It's incredibly comfortable, It's just not much to look at in my opinion. Maybe I'll recover it and hold onto it for if I go on any long distance rides.

Had a great weekend out riding with my brother. On Saturday we took our bikes their first bike show and got a lot of compliments on each of them. We went on the first real long ride out to my sister-in-law's family party, about 100 miles each direction. Took the bikes on the turnpike for the first time and were really able to open them up. Also got to hit some really cool back roads. Then finally got some pictures of them with a good quality camera.

First picture is just a cell phone one at the bike show. The rest are from a good camera:

Love the photoshop job and the bike! I have a pretty similar story, being new to bikes w/in the last year, and I have a 77 CB750K as my first project bike. Looking to do a similar job on it as you did, nothing too crazy, manageable, and not too much money into.

Looks like you cleaned your engine up really nice, what all did you pull off to buff separately and what did you just leave on and clean in place?

Here's a pic of the bike I'm starting w/

Awesome job on your bike!  Thanks for posting your progress, I just got a 750k and most everything you've done is pretty much exactly what I'm going for.  I'd like to pick your brain sometime about how you did everything.  Thanks for sharing this again, awesome!

Thanks for the compliments! Believe it or not I was able to clean up the whole engine in place. I scrubbed the whole thing down first with Gunk degreaser and then Simple Grean. To polish up the aluminum i used a varying grains of sandpaper and ultra fine steel wool with Mother's aluminum polish. Any nooks I couldn't get to I used a dremel with a polishing tip. After that I masked off everything and touched up the painted sections with Duplicolor engine enamel. Basically everything else came off the bike to get done as you can see in my pics I was pretty much down to an engine in a frame.

Any other questions feel free to ask.
