Raleigh hills- Present!  Just got ownership of my '80 CB650c.  Hoping to be endorsed and have my bike road-ready by fall... ::)

Anyone have any good suggestions on a shop that will help me re-assemble my carbs, get 'em synched etc, for not a lot of $$ but tons and tons of heartfelt loyalty and all my business?  I'm thinking D&S Cycle in Aloha...

i have used d&s for alot of stuff good bunch of guys there

I just bought a 78 hondamatic with 161 miles on it. I have a lot of questions about fixing it up, cosmetic and mechanical issues mainly. Is there a club that meets in Portland? Where and when? My goal is to make this barn find really shine. My e-mail direct is jbett98@yahoo.com, thanks and safe riding.

As far as a club?  I don't think so, officially.  Sweet score on the low-miles hondamatic, though!
If all else fails, there's Raven off 99W.  PM me for his number.  He specializes in these older bikes, but because he's a one-man show, you might end up waiting for your bike for a bit. Actually, I think he's the only guy who wrenches on these bikes.  It might be worth the wait.

there are a few of us that share a shop in N (just moved to inner NE actually) portland, who tinker on these old hondas. SOHC4 members- whodareswins, billdramp, southbound, and several others who have been on this forum share the shop. none of us have ever had an A model, but there have been dozens of SOHC4s through our garage. i don't know the A at all, but may be able to help you in other areas if you need. PM me if you're looking for help.

Dude, you found new digs? That's great!

Inner NE. How much more inner could you have gotten, you guys were already pretty close to the river before, weren't you?

Whatever happened with that asshat landlord?

the new shop is at 18th and glisan. technically, the old shop was in the north "quadrant." that asshat landlord served me with a summons to appear in court on friday for an eviction hearing. the sheriff showed up as we were getting one of our last loads (on the 30th day) and was scratching his head himself as to what this idiot's problem is. he told me we didn't have to leave at all if we didn't want to, as he had served improper notice and broken all kinds of laws, but i just want it to be overwith. if he doesn't drop the charges by friday i'm gonna stick it to him hard and leave him paying all of my lawyer's fees. he is so ridiculously in the wrong.

Jesus, what a tool! He sounds like a guy I used to work for.  :P

Glad to hear that you guys were able to find a place to land, tho!

Doesn't Glisan turn into Sandy somewhere near there? Or am I thinking of Broadway & Halsey?

Oh yeah. I know that area now. Had friends that lived near there for a while.

If you get a chance, check out the Greek Deli (Foti's) on 17th & Burnside. Best gyros on the PLANET!!

SW in Beaverton here. Well, I have a Harley but, but, but... in  my own defense, I am a big time enabler of Kitsune who does have a Honda. Can I still come and play?  ;D

One of these days, when we have some cash to spare, I will end up with a nice little Honnnnnnnda of my own.  8)

I'm posting this again cause I figured it might hit more Portland folks directly.  Pass the word along please, if you know anyone who rides who needs a place to live.

Howdy,
Portlanders - Let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested in renting a room and shop in N. Portland (St. Johns) a couple miles from PIR.  Please pass the word along.

I have a bedroom that I'm getting ready to rent in my house... that comes with a shop.  The room still needs some work due to the addition I've been building on my house, but will by ready by August 1st, maybe sooner.  I would love to keep the shop as a space to work on bikes in... mine and another friend's come winter. I've plans to put a boat block or two in the overhead (um, ceiling) for a lift.  It's approx. 300sqft  with a built in workbench and lots of natural light.  It will eventually have a bathroom and slider barn doors to the outside entrance.  The bedroom is 8x12 and has a door to the shop.

So, woman with dog has shop... will send photos of the dog and the shop   ;)
Thanks for your help!
~Carrie

Thanks for the welcome!

The 'flats are coming around; the police have only had to make a "house call" on our street once this month so far.  ;)

You're right tho; plenty of Chinese joints.  Plus, our dive bars remain relatively hipster-free.
