Maintenance fuel tank
« on: May 26, 2013, 06:46:22 AM »
I was about to toss a motorcycle battery electrolyte container and then thought better and used it for a small fuel tank. Works good for balancing the carbs. I drilled a hole in the top and installed a small vent fitting and used the existing fill nipple with fuel tubing and a filter. It should go without saying the container needs to be flushed clean. If it survives battery acid gasoline should be fine.

Recycle-Reuse--Looks like it should work fine. Somekind of a little bracket to hang it and your golden. On mine from a lawn mower I bought a cheap inline petcock for a few buck that I can turn the gas off when I,m done and a splitter for hooking to more that one nipple.

Wow I use that same bottle to work on them while on the bench stand to fill and check the floats. Don't have the filter guess I should.

I have a lawn mower tank with a shut off similar to your set up.  I made a hanger with an old large diameter pulley for the floor and a T at the top to hang the tank and my  Motion Pro carb balancer.  Much cheaper than one you can buy.  I like yours!
