Fitting races into cups - HD ironhead
« on: May 30, 2013, 03:04:08 PM »
I'm having trouble getting the races to seat all the way a the bottom of the cups. As you can see in the picture they're about an 1/8th on an inch from seating properly. I've had them in the freezer for a day but I'm not sure if that will help because they are together and both will both contract defeating the purpose. I don't think I can get the races out anymore to try and freeze. Any ideas.  This is for a 74 ironhead.

Just get a good  fitting bushing on that top edge, give it a smart blow on a wood  or aluminum block..but support the frame cup. So that you dont crack the part that fits into the neck..2x4 with a hole drilled thru it wood work..
