reading plugs ::::photos::::
« on: June 23, 2013, 08:27:14 AM »
Here are a few shots of my bike and plugs. The plugs were brand new as of yesterday and cyl 2-3 fouled out almost immediately this morning.  I checked the timing again and made a discovery. you can set the timing of cylinder 1-4 independently from 2-3!!!  what!!! 2-3 and were way off. Do you think that is what caused this to happen??  gunna time correctly and try new plugs. I also am using the "shim method on the points plate. Crammed a .006" shim between the plate and casting when tightening.  Set the gap to somewhere around .013-.014. on each point. Could I have a bad coil??  When doing a spark check they seem to fire identically arcoss all four plugs.  Also the bike is super hard to start.

They SHOULD all fire on each revolution..........Its a wasted-spark system. Yes, the timing can be set somewhat different but should be on the 'F' marks for everyday use.  More info when we can see the pics............
