Oh my freaking god. This is my new favorite bike! Subscribed! Dumb question but are these really expensive? I read the wiki page on them.
I dont know if they are really expensive.....but they are hard to find. This was the first time I have ever seen one for sale in my area and I got a really good deal on it.

I got a little side tracked yesterday on my other project, 1978 Suzuki GS1000. Been doing alot of upgrades to it over the weekend and had to finish up doing some mods to the new alloy rear swingarm. Its a GS1100E alloy swingarm with a swingarm brace from a CBR900RR welded in place. Bike still has a lot of work....but getting closer.

If you delve into the Benelli's engine you will find _many_ similarities with Honda CB 500+550 sohc engines, so this thread should definitely stay alive here.
Bore & stroke are said to be identical, with Benelli essentially just taking a CB500/4 motor and hanging an extra piston on each end. I seem to recall that Benelli relocated the alternator to above the gearbox?

I didnt take many photos of the swingarm during the mod with the brace, but there are a couple more pics over on GSResources.com. Here is a link:
