Confused about right-hand control housing (model?)
« on: May 30, 2013, 07:16:46 PM »
Hi,
Here a pic of the bottom of my right-hand control housing. The throttle hold for cable B (one closest to the driver) is larger than the other. I have four throttle cables, but they are all too small for the larger openning. Is there a specific type of cable that I need to buy? Anyone familiar with what this model this housing is from?
Thanks

It's a stock, standard pre-'76 control base.  Right is the pull cable, left is the push cable. If your cables don't fit, I'd suspect that you don't have the right cables.

The push cable has an adjustment that screws into the base, which explains the differences.

Hmmmm! I must be missing a piece then, cause I can only find cables with the same diameter of screw for the bottom of the base. A separate adjustment piece would explain it, but does not appear in any diagrams or parts lists. Puzzling.

The two throttle cables are different, one is specifically for pull and the other push. They have different sized ferrules.

That's because it's an integral part of the push cable and wouldn't be listed seperately. Sounds like you need to purchase the correct cables.
