There is an aftermarket unit with suction cups I've seen on many Triumphs. I wouldn't trust it though. If I were to do it I'd drill the tank, put some threaded inserts in, then silver solder them to seal it up, then paint. That is the right way to do it.
Not sure of the RE parts but you could also get the regular Triumph ones from any shop that deals in old Triumph parts. Just have to check the shape out to see what fits your tank best.
