72' CB 500 FOUR pressure plate bolt torque? Please help!
« on: November 10, 2012, 12:35:40 PM »
Hi All,

I'm in the process of reassembling my clutch in a 72 honda cb500 four from a broken clutch rod and am unable to find any torque specifications for the 4 spring loaded bolts that attach the clutch pressure plate. I've checked my Clymer manual and searched to the end of the Internet. Does anyone know what the torque specs are for these 4 bolts? (if there even is a torque spec)

Thanks so much!

Pretty sure Dave is right; the torque is pretty light.

Towards the front of the honda service manual there is a table with torque specifications for common bolts of various sizes.  Did you try measuring the bolts and looking for them in the table? Might be listed there.

its a six mill bolt,,dont torque any of the six mill bolts anywhere on the bike even though they might list specs for them, they strip out too easy, strangle the wrench when you tighten them.
