output shaft seal install....PITA!!!
« on: May 30, 2013, 05:00:01 PM »
so once my main bearings get here I can install my crank in my 550  motor build.

So I figured I would get the transmission in the upper case half and get everything ready.

I bought a new output shaft seal and I can't get this thing started on the shaft for the life of me.  do I need to use something to help guide it on?  I am trying to get it on the shaft out of the cases.  I have tried tilting it and pushing it to one side but am not having alot of luck.

should I cut a pop bottle or can and wrap the shaft with it so I can wiggle the seal up in place?
