Bike is all together and running great! Will post some updated photos soon.

Absolutely love the look of the airframe ghost! You have to do a teaser vid/reel soon.

Hello Stilltime,

I love Your bike, I have a similar taste so for me it looks amazing. I have a few questions, and You would help me a lot, if you had a time to answer them.

1) What are the sizes of the tires (both rear and front) ?
2) I can't see If you were tearing Your engine apart, did You only dismantle the top cover and the breather cover ? I have a CB 550 F Super Sport and the engine is running pretty well, but i need to paint it. So I was wondering if I can mess something pulling out this cover which is protecting the camshaft.
3) Where is Your fender from ?

Greetings,

Simon

The yellow lens on the helmet actually reminds me more of the Master Chief character in the HALO games.

How are you sending GPS information for you speed to your Speedhut gauge?  Are you using the stock sensor?  Where did you mount it.

I noticed that mwasson (CB750SS Street Tracker build http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=131735.50) is using something more robust looking called a Dakota Digital GPS sender (http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=837/category_id=646/mode=prod/prd837.htm).  I was wondering if you had a chance to run yours to see how well the stock GPS functions.

I really like the Speedhut gauges, although I can't seem to get their custom gauge builder site to work.  The only downside is that their gauge does NOT include idiot lights for neutral or oil.

Thanks a lot for the comments!  I LOVE the hi-viz militaryesque visor.  Full-on sun-in-my-face with no sunglasses required, everything is very contrasty and has punch to it, but also is clear as day during the night riding...  The helmet overall is so much nicer than my $100 HJC lid.

Simonpol - Thanks!  I really appreciate it.  I'm running Avon RoadRiders 3.25x19 Front and 4.00x18 Rear.

I did take the cam cover off, as long as you mask it all off from paint you should be ok, just put some break-in oil or keep oil on the cam loves to prevent them from drying and flash rusting.

Fender is just a cut down stock fender!  It was in pretty rough shape to begin with...

Thanks!

CB750 Cafe Racer Fan - the SpeedHut GPS Speedometer comes with a hotwired GPS sender, always powered (pulls very little juice, never had a problem with it) so GPS is ready to go once you start your bike.  I routed it back to my side covers and stuck it to the inside of it with some Velcro.  They suggest not mounting it directly under steel, so that's why I chose the side cover.

Their custom gauge builder has worked great for me on my computer and phone, try another source!!  It really is nice to get them exactly how you want.  Also, keep digging in their products ;)  they do offer them with idiot lights, and will even out place little oil/high beam/engine symbols next to them if you ask nicely!

Edit:  Yes I ran the GPS speedometer all summer last season and never had any issues.  It (seems) extremely accurate, no delay in the needle speed for speedo or tach.  I liked it so much I ordered different gauges from them!  They're shipping tomorrow.  You lose signal going through a tunnel or under some large overpasses but that never bothered me, they tell you on the site that will happen.

Tews, I'd be honored!  It snowed today, but hopefully I'll get a chance in the next few days to take it for a shoot.

I really appreciate it!  It's been a fun time getting it to this point.

Gauges finally came in!!  Still need to wire them up, but this was much needed to clean up the front end.  Might play around with the clip-on positions too.

Wish I could get them pointed back a little more, but they would hit the tank.  Lowering them helps, but not sure how low I want them to be.

If you haven't voted yet, go vote for Bike of the Month!!!  (As long as it's for me ;)  )

Next big thing will be to finish the design for my subframe, either keeping twin shocks or possibly mono shock.  And to design and fab a swingarm...

NHK steering damper mounted!  Caved and installed on left side for easy adjustment.

I REALLY need to make/buy a longer kickstand after putting the 14" shocks out back...  Any suggestions?
