New to Honda's

Hello everybody  :) Amazingly I have got to this age and have only recently bought my first Honda, a 1976 400 four which I am turning into a cafe racer. I have been riding for over 30 years and had many bikes but until now I never had a Honda. Below is a picture of me with my previous restoration project, a 1979 Yamaha RD250E which I have had since I was 17.

what kind of paint are you using - spray cans or actual auto paint?

Valspar Automotive for the gloss and Simoniz tough black rattle cans for the satin. Like with the RD for the tins I will be getting a professional sprayer (Med Edwards) to do it.

Thanks MoMo, the R5 and the YDS7 were the predecessors of the RD350 and RD250, by the time they got to the coffin tank version they were 250 and 400 from D models through to F models before again becoming 250 and 350 but this time they were LC's.

I wish I had, I love original bike tools, that's why I got an authentic tool kit for under the seat of the RD, I am on the lookout for one for the 400 four but it's not essential as it is a cafe racer conversion and not an authentic restoration.

You can piece a tool kit together but an original one can command a bunch of money in the states.  There are reproduction ones available on Ebay if you have any interest in that...Larry
