side cover diamonds
« on: May 31, 2013, 10:04:17 AM »
A question for all who may know. I am restoring a 1975 750k. So the question is -- what is the correct color for the side cover diamonds? The bike came with a red one on the right and an orange one on the left. That doesn't seem right.  Reviewing stuff on ebay and listings of oem parts seem to show either color is right depending on the site. So is it the luck of the draw, or is there some rhyme or reason for each of the peculiar colors that I'm missing??? Any and all help welcomed. Thanks

Mark

73-76 should be orange.

Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

72 are orange also. The only year that had red was 1971.

Replaced broken side covers. Couldn't find a matching blue so I went with satin black in a rattle can.

Yeah it was real easy for me, just use Paypal!   ;)

The emblems came from Joe Frankenstuff, maker of the coolest accessories.  All different color diamond emblems.

The rest of the paint was Bud Henley Custom Paint here in Indy.
