listed on peoria il cl. 400 miles later it was in my garage, dodging tornadoes, hail and epic rain all the way down i-55. one owner, still on original 74 title. yep, he was a Bob Seager fan.
not running, spent the day cleaning it up a bit. got some tasty R.C. bits on/in it.
anyone here know this bike?

Way cool Bad A$$ Old School!  8)  8)  8)  8)  8)
Back in the day SoCal had a few of these prowling the streets at night... and you knew they meant business when you pulled up next to one. They just scream 'come on punk, make my day'.  ;D

How long has she been sitting?

Looks good but could be awesome with new seat and paint (unless you're a Segar fanatic too!!)

if i keep it, may just get the "night moves" removed from the tank and the sides re-shot. rest of the paint is cool and would keep it original-ish.

I sure like this look, it has a stance similar to the early Pro Stockers.

dug through some of the old paperwork today. have the "r.c" power pack installation instructions, parts list, specs on the CIR cam:246 deg duration/.350 lift, and instructions for the "power pumps" installed on the carbs which have also been bored. sort of like a yost power tube for the cv carbs, except of course there are  one in each carb.
'bout as clean as its gonna get. just kinda like lookin' at it now. carbs snap free, tank is spotless inside. gonna change the oil, re-install the chain, clean the front brake, install a battery and see what happens.

+1...I would be tempted to not change a thing out of respect for the original builder, even though I am not a fan of "Night Moves" era Seger...definitely a very cool period piece...
If it works good, it looks good...

What an awesome survivor ! That is the look we were after back in the day, some super nice period pieces on this beauty. Lot's of work and dollars went into this bike , one of the very first things I noticed was that sweet Corbin Gentry seat ! I so miss mine ! Great score my friend , rock it as is !

Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

pulled the tank off to hook up the throttle cable and take a peak underneath. was relieved to see this.

have owned a couple of other hot rodded cb750's over the years and seen the lower tubes just lopped off.

gotta be careful though if it does light due to a neighbor who runs out of his house with the cell phone in his hand calling the cops for a noise complaint. god he hated this bike:
